Automation training
In our training courses, you benefit from the many years of practical experience and the knowledge of our broad-based team in the field of automation.
It’s on for the PLC technicians, step into the world of Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) and deepen your skills in troubleshooting and fault elimination. You will increase the productivity of your machine/plant with the targeted, systematic and fast location and rectification of faults. The evening course refreshes the knowledge of the PLC technician and expands it to include the basics of communication, drive technology and operation & monitoring. It also covers the contents of the ST-SERV3 course and concludes with the ST-SERVATP examination. The knowledge imparted corresponds to the further training objective Siemens Automation Technician (ST-SERVATP).
PLC technician or comparable knowledge (see course content description PLC technician) as taught in the SERV1 /SERV2 or PRO1 courses.

The course provides basic knowledge about the electrical and mechanical structure of automation systems, the configuration and parameterisation of hardware, the handling of the STEP 7 basic software and the basics of programming. In addition, the course provides an outlook on operating and monitoring, the basics of decentralised peripherals and the handling of drives. The system concept of Totally Integrated Automation is demonstrated. After the course, the participant will be able to diagnose simple hardware faults, replace modules and reduce machine/plant downtimes. All topics are illustrated by practical exercises on a plant model consisting of the S7-300 automation system, ET200S decentralised peripherals, TP 170B touch panel, MM420 drive and a conveyor model. For preparation, you will receive the self-learning programme “PLC knowledge for beginners” as a WBT in advance, and the WBT “Micromaster 420” as a follow-up.

This TIA course focuses on hardware and software troubleshooting and their elimination. In this context, the basic handling of operating and monitoring systems, drive components and the fundamentals of standard communication via MPI and PROFIBUS DP are explained. The targeted location of faults shortens the downtimes of the machine/plant. All topics are supported by practical exercises on a plant model consisting of the S7-300 automation system, ET200S decentralised peripherals, TP 170B touch panel, MM420 drive and a belt model. After the course you will receive a learning environment on the Internet with the WBT “SIMATIC ProTool/Pro” unlocked.
