Automation technician - evening training

Description

It’s on for the PLC technicians, step into the world of Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) and deepen your skills in troubleshooting and fault elimination. You will increase the productivity of your machine/plant with the targeted, systematic and fast location and rectification of faults. The evening course refreshes the knowledge of the PLC technician and expands it to include the basics of communication, drive technology and operation & monitoring. It also covers the contents of the ST-SERV3 course and concludes with the ST-SERVATP examination. The knowledge imparted corresponds to the further training objective Siemens Automation Technician (ST-SERVATP).

  • Many practical exercises for commissioning. Troubleshooting, diagnostics and programme extension on an exercise model networked via PROFIBUS DP (consisting of S7-300, touch panel TP170B, drive MM420, decentralised peripherals ET200S and a conveyor model)
  • Final examination to become a certified Siemens automation technician
Note: The training takes place twice a week in the evenings and on selected Saturdays. The participant receives a certificate at the end of the course and a certificate if the examination is passed.

SIMATIC S7 TIA Service Training 1

Description

The course provides basic knowledge about the electrical and mechanical structure of automation systems, the configuration and parameterisation of hardware, the handling of the STEP 7 basic software and the basics of programming. In addition, the course provides an outlook on operating and monitoring, the basics of decentralised peripherals and the handling of drives. The system concept of Totally Integrated Automation is demonstrated. After the course, the participant will be able to diagnose simple hardware faults, replace modules and reduce machine/plant downtimes. All topics are illustrated by practical exercises on a plant model consisting of the S7-300 automation system, ET200S decentralised peripherals, TP 170B touch panel, MM420 drive and a conveyor model. For preparation, you will receive the self-learning programme “PLC knowledge for beginners” as a WBT in advance, and the WBT “Micromaster 420” as a follow-up.

Contents
  • System overview and essential features of the SIMATIC S7 system family
  • The components of the basic STEP 7 package
  • Program processing in the automation system
  • Binary and digital operations
  • Setting up and assembling the automation system
  • Addressing and wiring the signal modules
  • Hardware and software commissioning of the automation system
  • Hardware configuration and parameterisation with S7-300
  • Deepening the contents by practising on the unit
  • Presentation of the TP170B touch panel
  • Presentation of the MM420 drive
  • Structure and parameterisation of the PROFIBUS DP
  • Saving and documenting programme changes that have been made
Note: The course is part of the training to become a PLC technician according to VDMA/ZVEI guidelines.
